Using Webtop Applications in the Classroom

The added benefit of using webtop applications in lieu of a computer-based application is the fact that students and adults are able to create, view, and edit documents simultaneously anywhere, anytime.

• Peer editing—Students can read and make edits in another student's writing

   

• Group story—One student writes the opening paragraph for a story, then invites another student in as a collaborator to write the next paragraph. The second student invite in a third to continue writing, and so on.

   

• Brainstorming—Teams of students use a Google Doc to brainstorm ideas for a group project.
