Mashups & Filters

This is a resource for teachers. Please check the sites carefully for suitability in your classroom before using with students.

Introduction

A Web 2.0 filter is a tool designed to help internet users manage online resources.

"A mashup is a website or web application that seamlessly combines content from more than one source into an integrated experience." Wikipedia (accessed 11-13-06 at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashup_(web_application_hybrid))

Example: Ohio is a Piano--A mashup-up map where each of Ohio's 88 counties representes a note on a piano keyboard.
