1. The In Plain English videos from Common Craft are a great, free resource for out group. Each is 3-5 minutes long and tackles one Web 2.0 concept.

2. Intel Visual Ranking Tool-- Great for using in groups when you need to prioritize ideas or needs or whatever.

VoiceThread

Here's an example of a VoiceThread created using images that were first uploaded to the Flickr group shown above, then imported into VoiceThread.

This VoiceThread shows how a class of 3rd grade students is using VoiceThread in a language arts activity.

Jing

When adding a link to a Jing video, you aren't able (at this time) to embed the image as you can with VoiceThread. Instead, you need to post a link when you get the Web address after clicking on Share. Here is a link to a sample Jing video that explains how to edit a page in this wiki.

Peer-to-Peer TICAL?

I'm reading a book called Wikinomics and it describes why peer-to-peer networks outperform centralized, heirarchical web resources (http://www.wikinomics.com/index.php). In other words, it breaks down why Web 2.0 will wipe out our old way of using the web as a static, "newspaper" tool.

Here's my epiphany: What we need is MySpace for Administrators. Imagine a future where administrators set up their own profile on a social network site and they can link with colleagues, upload resources, and where we use social bookmarking resources to direct users to the most popular, useful tools. It emerges in nonlinear fashion and creates a true "community of practice" ... The technology tools exist to make this happen (as is evident by Friendster, Multiply, FaceBook, etc.)--we just need to figure out how to harness the infrastructure/architecture and make it happen. If we aren't the ones to orchestrate this change, someone else certainly will.
